Rat Apelin 13 ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Apelin 13 in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate where sample or standard Apelin 13 competes with immobilised antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Apelin 13 antibody. Following incubation and washing, an HRP-avidin conjugate is added and TMB substrate is used to generate a colour change that is inversely proportional to the amount of Apelin 13 present, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Stated performance figures include an assay range of 93.8–6000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <26.35 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery testing (n=5) gave averages of 91% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma and 95% in heparin plasma, with corresponding observed ranges of 83–100%, 90–103% and 89–102%. Dilution linearity was assessed (n=5) at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Total assay time is approximately 2h 30m, with kit components stored at +4°C or -20°C as labelled.
