Rat Annexin A5 ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com, this kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Annexin V/ANXA5 in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay is intended for use with rat samples and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Annexin V/ANXA5. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where the target is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Annexin V/ANXA5 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then used to visualize the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Annexin V/ANXA5 captured in each well. The concentration of Annexin V/ANXA5 is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm and referring to a standard curve.

Reported assay performance includes a range of 0.156-10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.063 ng/ml. Manufacturer recovery data show average recoveries of 91% for serum (range 80%-102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%-89%, n=5), with dilution linearity assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 ratios across these sample types. Total assay time is 4h 30m, and kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed; the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
