Rat Angiotensin I ELISA Kit

A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Angiotensin I in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) on which Angiotensin I antigen has been immobilised; sample Angiotensin I competes with the fixed antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Angiotensin I antibody. Following incubation and washing, an HRP-avidin conjugate is added, and signal is developed with TMB substrate and an acidic stop solution, producing a yellow colour read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Colour intensity is inversely proportional to Angiotensin I concentration, which is calculated against a standard curve.

The reported assay range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <4.62 pg/ml, and the total assay time is 2 h 30 m. Recovery has been characterised for serum (range 85–100%, average 92%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 85–103%, average 94%, n=5) and heparin plasma (range 87–99%, average 93%, n=5). Kit components are stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed, and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
