Rat Angiopoietin Like Protein 3 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The principle is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay: an antibody specific for ANGPTL3 is pre-coated onto the plate, standards and test samples are added, and ANGPTL3 present in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-ANGPTL3 antibody binds the captured analyte, then HRP-avidin conjugate is added. TMB substrate is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of ANGPTL3 captured, and concentration is calculated from the O.D. absorbance read at 450 nm against the standard curve.

Stated performance figures are an assay range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, a sensitivity of <6.4 pg/ml, and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Across serum (n=5), reported values range from 80% to 102% with an average of 91%; for EDTA plasma (n=5), values range from 81% to 101% with an average of 91%; and for heparin plasma (n=5), values range from 80% to 89% with an average of 84%. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
