Rat Angiopoietin 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Angiopoietin 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which an antibody specific for Angiopoietin 1 is pre-coated onto a microtiter plate; standards and samples are added and bound by the immobilised antibody, followed by washing and incubation with a biotinylated anti-Angiopoietin 1 antibody. After addition of an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate, an acidic stop solution produces a yellow colour whose intensity is proportional to the amount of Angiopoietin 1 captured in each well, read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader. The quantitative assay has a reported range of 3.12-200 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <1.36 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and must not be used past the expiration date.

Manufacturer-reported average recovery values are 91% for serum (range 80-102%, n=5), 91% for EDTA plasma (range 81-101%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80-89%, n=5). Dilution linearity is reported across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, with serum values of 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101% and 92-97% respectively; EDTA plasma values of 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101% and 79-108%; and heparin plasma values of 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105% and 89-91% (each n=5).
