Rat Amyloid Beta Peptide 1-40 ELISA Kit

A competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Amyloid beta Peptide 1-40 in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate. During incubation, Amyloid beta Peptide 1-40 present in samples or standards competes with the immobilised antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Amyloid beta Peptide 1-40 Antibody. After incubation and washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added, and TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm and is inversely proportional to the amount of Amyloid beta Peptide 1-40 present.

Stated product range is 31.2-2000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 11.6 pg/ml. Reported average recovery is 91% in serum (range 83%-100%, n=5), 95% in EDTA plasma (range 91%-99%, n=5), and 94% in heparin plasma (range 90%-99%, n=5). Total assay time is 2h 30m, with read-out on a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.
