Rat Alpha-Fodrin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Alpha-Fodrin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit shows reactivity with rat samples and is read on a colorimetric microplate reader.

An antibody specific for the target has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added, and the target present in each sample is captured by the immobilized antibody. After incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-target antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and further incubation. TMB substrate solution is then added to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of target captured, and the concentration is calculated from the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

The standard curve range is 7.81–500 pg/ml and the assay sensitivity is 2.3 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery in serum averages 91% (range 80–102%), in EDTA plasma averages 91% (range 81–101%), and in heparin plasma averages 84% (range 80–89%). Components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and not used past the stated expiration date.
