Rat Alpha-2-Macroglobulin ELISA Kit

Sandwich ELISA (quantitative) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat alpha 2 Macroglobulin in serum, plasma, urine or other biological fluids, supplied under the Antibodies.com brand. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique using a 96-well microplate pre-coated with antibody specific for alpha 2 Macroglobulin. Standards and samples are added to the wells, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-alpha 2 Macroglobulin Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate. After incubation and washing, TMB substrate solution is added; the resulting enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow on addition of acidic stop solution. The concentration of alpha 2 Macroglobulin is calculated from the O.D. absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader against a standard curve.

Reactivity is rat, with detection performed on a colorimetric microplate reader. The reported product range is 15.6–1000 ng/ml and sensitivity is 8.7 ng/ml. Assay time is 4 h 30 min. Mean recovery in serum (n=5) is 91% (range 83–100%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) is 96% (range 90–103%), and in Heparin plasma (n=5) is 94% (range 90–99%). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
