Rat Alpha-1-Microglobulin/Bikunin Precursor ELISA Kit

An assay kit from Antibodies.com, this Rat Alpha-1-Microglobulin/Bikunin Precursor ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat alpha 1 Microglobulin in serum, plasma, urine or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for alpha 1 Microglobulin pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate, with a Biotinylated Anti-alpha 1 Microglobulin Antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate detection system. The reaction is visualised with TMB substrate solution, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450nm in a microplate reader.

The assay has a sensitivity of 0.53 ng/ml and an assay range of 1.56-100 ng/ml. It is run on a pre-coated microplate (12 x 8 well strips) with a total assay time of 4h 30m, and read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.

Sample recovery data are reported across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with neat (undiluted) average recoveries of 91%, 96% and 95% respectively (n=5). Dilution linearity is also reported at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for each sample type.
