Rat Alkaline Sphingomyelinase ELISA Kit

Manufactured for research use, this sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat NPP-7 (Alkaline Sphingomyelinase) in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate and employs a biotinylated anti-NPP-7 detection antibody with an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution; absorbance is read at 450nm. Total assay time is 4h 30m, and kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed.

Performance figures indicate a sensitivity of 0.043 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156-10 ng/ml. Recovery has been characterised in serum (90-102%, average 96%), EDTA plasma (90-103%, average 96%) and heparin plasma (91-98%, average 94%), with linearity data also available at dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16.
