Rat Aldosterone Synthase ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Aldosterone Synthase. The assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids, and the reactivity profile is rat-specific.

The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which a capture antibody specific for Aldosterone Synthase is immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and the analyte present is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-Aldosterone Synthase detection antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then introduced; the HRP-catalysed reaction yields a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow coloration is proportional to the amount of analyte captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated from the optical density read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader against a standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of <0.063 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery values are 80–102% (average 91%) for serum (n=5), 81–100% (average 90%) for EDTA plasma (n=5) and 80–89% (average 84%) for heparin plasma (n=5). Kit components are stored at +4°C or −20°C as indicated.
