Rat Alcohol Dehydrogenase 1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat Alcohol Dehydrogenase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, or other biological fluids. The assay uses a microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Alcohol Dehydrogenase. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, and after incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Alcohol Dehydrogenase Antibody is applied, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate is then added; catalysis produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and the Alcohol Dehydrogenase concentration is calculated by reference to a standard curve.

The assay has a stated sensitivity of <0.59 ng/ml and a detection range of 1.56-100 ng/ml. Reported sample recovery values are as follows: serum (n=5) 80%-102%, average 91%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 81%-100%, average 90%; heparin plasma (n=5) 80%-89%, average 84%. Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 was demonstrated for all three sample types. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
