Rat Adrenocorticotropic Hormone ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rat adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids.

The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate formed of 12 x 8 well strips and a competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. ACTH in samples or standards competes with immobilized ACTH antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-ACTH Antibody. After washing, an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added and TMB substrate is used to visualize the reaction; absorbance is read at 450 nm and the concentration is calculated against a standard curve, with colour intensity inversely proportional to ACTH levels.

Reported performance includes a sensitivity of <4.76 pg/ml, an assay range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and an assay time of 2h 30m. Spiking recovery (n=5) has been reported as: serum range 80%–102%, average 91%; EDTA plasma range 81%–100%, average 90%; heparin plasma range 80%–89%, average 84%. Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (n=5) has been reported as: serum 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%; EDTA plasma 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%; heparin plasma 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%.
