The assay uses a pre-coated microplate format with a biotinylated anti-ADAMTS7 detection antibody, an HRP-avidin conjugate, and a TMB substrate, with absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is <0.058 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. In spike-and-recovery testing with n=5 samples, average recovery in serum was 91% (range 80–102%), in EDTA plasma 91% (range 81–101%), and in heparin plasma 84% (range 80–89%).
