Rabbit Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of rabbit VCAM1 (Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate with an antibody specific for VCAM1; standards and test samples are added to the wells and captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-VCAM1 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The concentration of VCAM1 is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The assay has a measuring range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, a sensitivity of 5.4 pg/ml and a total run time of 4h 30m. Reported values (n=5, range and average) are 80-102% / 91% for serum, 81-100% / 90% for EDTA plasma, and 80-89% / 84% for heparin plasma. At dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 respectively, values were 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101% and 92-97% for serum (n=5); 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101% and 79-108% for EDTA plasma (n=5); and 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105% and 89-91% for heparin plasma (n=5). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
