From Antibodies.com, this assay is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rabbit Oxidized Low Density Lipoprotein (Oxidized LDL) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids.
The kit is supplied as a pre-coated microplate comprising 12 x 8 well strips and uses a colorimetric detection format read at 450 nm in a microplate reader. It is reactive with rabbit samples and employs a biotinylated detection antibody together with HRP-Avidin and TMB substrate, producing a yellow colour whose intensity is proportional to the amount of Oxidized LDL captured. The manufacturer reports an assay time of 4h 30m, a sensitivity of <1.33 ng/ml and an assay range of 3.12-200 ng/ml.
Acceptable performance has been documented across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Reported average recovery ranges are 80-102% (n=5) for serum, 81-100% (n=5) for EDTA plasma and 80-89% (n=5) for heparin plasma, with linearity demonstrated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Kit components include detection solutions, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate and stop solution, and the manufacturer advises storing components at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not using the kit past its expiration date.
