This Sandwich ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rabbit CXCR1 (Interleukin 8 Receptor Alpha) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, or other biological fluids. The immunoassay uses a pre-coated microplate with colourmetric detection, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader.
The assay applies the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for CXCR1 is pre-coated onto the plate; standards and test samples are added and any CXCR1 present is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-CXCR1 Antibody is introduced, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate then visualises the enzymatic reaction as a colour change proportional to the CXCR1 content of each well, allowing concentrations to be calculated against a standard curve.
Reported sensitivity is <0.061 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.156-10 ng/ml, and the full procedure takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery has been validated for serum (n=5, range 80-102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81-100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5, range 80-89%, average 84%). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
