Rabbit Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) supplied by Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of rabbit IL-6 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-6, arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are added and IL-6 present in each sample is bound by the immobilised capture antibody; bound IL-6 is then detected using a biotinylated anti-IL-6 antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is added to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader and IL-6 concentration is calculated against a standard curve covering 3.12-200 pg/ml. Reported sensitivity is less than 1.19 pg/ml and total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.

Spike-and-recovery data are reported for serum (n=5) at 80-102% with an average of 91%, EDTA plasma (n=5) at 81-100% with an average of 90%, and heparin plasma (n=5) at 80-89% with an average of 84%. Linearity-of-dilution data at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions are reported as: serum (n=5) 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101% and 92-97%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101% and 79-108%; heparin plasma (n=5) 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105% and 89-91%.
