Rabbit Heparin Cofactor II ELISA Kit

This Antibodies.com assay is a sandwich ELISA designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of rabbit Heparin Cofactor II (HC-II) in plasma. The method uses an antibody specific for HC-II pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added, and HC-II is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-HC-II Antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added; the enzymatic reaction produces a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of the stop solution, and the absorbance is read at 450nm in a microplate reader and quantified against a standard curve.

Manufacturer-quoted performance figures include a sensitivity of <1.03 U/L, an assay range of 3.12–200 U/L, and a total assay time of 4h 30m. Reported average recovery values (n=5) are 91% for serum (range 80%–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%–89%).

Detection is colorimetric on a pre-coated microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips, read using a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
