Rabbit Complement Component 5a ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of rabbit Complement C5a in serum, plasma and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated microplate with an immobilised anti-Complement C5a antibody, a biotinylated detection antibody and HRP-avidin with TMB substrate, producing a yellow product whose absorbance at 450 nm is read on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is less than 2.86 ng/ml with an assay range of 6.25–400 ng/ml and a total run time of approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.

Spike-and-recovery performance in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma (n=5 each) gave average recoveries of 91%, 94% and 96% respectively. Dilution linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 for serum (90–101%, 80–108%, 84–95%, 92–104%), EDTA plasma (82–105%, 89–91%, 87–109%, 74–104%) and heparin plasma (90–94%, 87–108%, 86–101%, 90–101%).
