Rabbit Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit supplied by Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of rabbit Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.055 ng/ml, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader. Recovery was reported at 80%–102% for serum (average 91%), 81%–100% for EDTA plasma (average 90%) and 80%–89% for heparin plasma (average 84%). The total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

The format is a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips. Standards and samples are captured by an immobilised anti-BDNF antibody, detected with a biotinylated anti-BDNF antibody and HRP-Avidin conjugate, and visualised using TMB substrate. The reaction is stopped with acidic stop solution and read at 450 nm; the intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the BDNF concentration in each well and is calculated against the standard curve.
