Porcine Von Willebrand Factor ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this competitive Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (cELISA) is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Von Willebrand Factor in plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate configured as 12 x 8 well strips, with detection on a colorimetric microplate reader. In the protocol, Von Willebrand Factor in samples or standards competes with immobilized antigen for binding sites on a biotinylated anti-Von Willebrand Factor antibody; an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate produce a yellow product whose absorbance at 450 nm is inversely proportional to the amount of analyte in the well.

Reported performance includes an assay range of 15.6–1000 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <4.51 ng/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 2 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery testing (n=5) gave averages of 92% in serum (range 82%–102%), 94% in EDTA plasma (range 90%–98%) and 92% in heparin plasma (range 87%–98%).
