Porcine Stem Cell Factor ELISA Kit

The kit supplied by Antibodies.com is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Stem Cell Factor (SCF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, or other biological fluids. The method uses the sandwich immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for SCF pre-coated onto a microtiter plate. After incubation with standards or samples, the captured SCF is detected using a Biotinylated Anti-SCF Antibody followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the SCF concentration is calculated against the standard curve.

Stated performance characteristics include a measuring range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <4.2 pg/ml. The total assay time is 4h 30m, and detection is colourimetric on a microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.

Validation data report the following average recoveries (n=5): serum 91% (range 80-102%), EDTA plasma 90% (range 81-99%) and heparin plasma 84% (range 80-89%). Dilution linearity is also reported for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16.
