A competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Relaxin in serum, plasma or other biological fluids.
The kit employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique, using a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with Relaxin antigen. During incubation, Relaxin present in samples or standards competes with the fixed amount of immobilized antigen for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-Relaxin Antibody. Unbound antibody is removed by washing and an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is inversely proportional to the amount of Relaxin in each sample or standard, calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader.
The assay has a sensitivity of <8.36 pg/ml and a product range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 2h 30m. Detection is colourmetric on a pre-coated microplate platform of 12 x 8 well strips. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
