A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Myoglobin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate platform with an antibody specific for Myoglobin immobilised on the wells. Standards and test samples are added, followed by a Biotinylated Anti-Myoglobin Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate; the reaction is visualised with TMB substrate, which yields a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of stop solution. The density of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of Myoglobin captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated from the O.D. absorbance read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is 0.29 ng/ml, with an assay range of 0.781-50 ng/ml and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Recovery data supplied with the kit lists serum (n=5) at 80%-102% (average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5) at 81%-99% (average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5) at 80%-89% (average 84%). Dilution linearity is reported at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.

Detection is colorimetric and the platform is a pre-coated microplate. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
