Porcine Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Porcine Interleukin 6 ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine IL-6 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for IL-6. Standards and samples are added; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-IL-6 Antibody binds the captured IL-6, and an HRP-Avidin conjugate is then added. TMB substrate visualises the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of IL-6 captured, and the concentration is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm against a standard curve.

Specifications include a product range of 62.5-4000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of 26.6 pg/ml. The assay runs for 4h 30m on a pre-coated microplate, with colorimetric detection on a microplate reader, and components held at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. Recovery (n=5) was: Serum 80%-102%, average 91%; EDTA Plasma 81%-99%, average 90%; Heparin Plasma 80%-89%, average 84%. Dilution linearity (n=5) at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions was: Serum 87-91%, 87-107%, 74-101%, 92-97%; EDTA Plasma 90-105%, 84-101%, 90-101%, 79-108%; Heparin Plasma 84-95%, 92-105%, 82-105%, 89-91%.
