Porcine Interferon Beta ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Porcine Interferon Beta ELISA Kit is a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Interferon Beta in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

The kit employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which an antibody specific for Interferon Beta has been immobilised. Standards and samples are added to the wells and the target is captured by the coated antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-Interferon Beta antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then used to visualise the HRP reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the concentration of Interferon Beta is calculated by reference to the standard curve.

According to the manufacturer, the assay has a measuring range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <6.2 pg/ml, with a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed in the protocol.
