Porcine Inhibin A ELISA Kit

Manufactured for Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Inhibin alpha in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. An antibody specific for the target is pre-coated onto a microplate; standards and samples are added to the wells and bound by the immobilised antibody, followed by a biotinylated anti-Inhibin alpha detection antibody, HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. Addition of an acidic stop solution produces a yellow colour whose intensity is proportional to the amount of analyte captured, and the concentration is calculated by reading the absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader against the standard curve. The total assay time is 4 h 30 min.

The manufacturer reports a product range of 15.6–1000 pg/ml and a sensitivity of <5.4 pg/ml. Spike-and-recovery averages are reported as 91% for serum (range 80–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Linearity-of-dilution results are provided across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions for serum (87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%), EDTA plasma (90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%) and heparin plasma (84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%).

Kit components include a pre-coated microplate supplied as 12 × 8-well strips, lyophilised standard, detection solution A, detection solution B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers. Components are intended to be stored at +4 °C or −20 °C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
