Porcine Follicle Stimulating Hormone ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (cELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine FSH beta in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay uses a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with FSH beta antigen. During incubation, FSH beta present in samples or standards competes with the fixed amount of immobilised FSH beta for binding sites on a Biotinylated Anti-FSH beta Antibody. Following incubation, unbound antibody is removed by washing and an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added to each well. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Absorbance is read at 450nm in a microplate reader, and the density of yellow is inversely proportional to the amount of FSH beta present, allowing quantification by reference to a standard curve.

The assay has a reported range of 6.25-400 mIU/ml with a sensitivity of <2.13 mIU/ml. Total assay time is 2h 30m and detection is colourimetric. Components are intended for storage at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit is suitable for porcine serum and plasma samples.

Validated recovery in serum averaged 91% (range 80%-102%, n=5), in EDTA plasma averaged 90% (range 81%-99%, n=5) and in heparin plasma averaged 84% (range 80%-89%, n=5). Dilution linearity has been assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across these sample types, supporting reliable performance across a range of sample concentrations.
