Porcine FGF21 ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine FGF21 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The assay is reported to be specific for FGF21, with no cross-reactivity with other analogs or variants, and the protocol is performed in approximately four hours.

The test uses a pre-coated microtiter plate onto which an antibody specific for FGF21 has been immobilised. Standards and samples are added to the wells, where FGF21 binds to the capture antibody. After washing to remove unbound material, a biotinylated detection antibody is introduced, forming an antibody–antigen–antibody sandwich complex. An HRP-Streptavidin conjugate is then applied, and TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is directly proportional to FGF21 concentration, which is calculated from the absorbance read at 450 nm against a standard curve.

The standard detection range is 31.25–2000 pg/mL with a reported sensitivity of less than 18.75 pg/mL. Serum and plasma samples are recommended to be diluted at least 1:2 with Sample Dilution Buffer prior to testing. The kit is shipped at +4°C, with components stored at +4°C or −20°C as directed in the protocol manual, and is intended for research use only.
