Porcine Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com supplies this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor (CNTF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay is specific for porcine CNTF.

The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) and a biotinylated anti-CNTF antibody / HRP conjugate workflow. Standards and samples are added to the wells; captured CNTF is bound by the detection antibody, and TMB substrate is used to visualize the reaction, producing a colour change measured at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. Reported sensitivity is 22.4 pg/ml and the detection range is 62.5–4000 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Spiking recovery has been validated in serum (range 80–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (range 80–89%, average 84%). Components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as indicated in the protocol, with freeze/thaw cycles to be avoided.
