Porcine Caveolin 1 ELISA Kit

Antibodies.com supplies a sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) kit for the in vitro quantitative determination of porcine Caveolin-1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is run on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and is read colourimetrically at 450 nm in a standard microplate reader.

An antibody specific for Caveolin-1 is immobilised on the plate; standards and test samples are added, followed by a biotinylated anti-Caveolin-1 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then catalysed to a yellow product whose absorbance is proportional to the amount of Caveolin-1 captured in each well. The supplied standard curve spans 0.156–10 ng/ml, with a reported sensitivity of <0.05 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4 h 30 min.

Typical recovery in undiluted samples averages 91% in serum (range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%), each across n = 5. Dilution linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in the same three matrices.
