Mouse Vimentin ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Vimentin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with an antibody specific for Vimentin pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells so that Vimentin present in each sample is bound by the immobilized antibody.

Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Vimentin Antibody binds the captured Vimentin, then an HRP-Avidin conjugate is added. After further incubation and washing, TMB substrate solution is used to visualize the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Vimentin captured in each well. The concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The reported assay range is 0.156-10 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.054 ng/ml. Recovery was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples (n=5 for each), with averages of 91%, 90% and 84% respectively. Total assay time is 4h 30m and detection is colorimetric. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the product must not be used past its expiration date.
