Mouse Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com enables the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse VCAM1 (Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay uses a microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for VCAM1. Standards and test samples are added to the wells where VCAM1 is bound by the immobilized antibody; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-VCAM1 Antibody is added, then an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate solution visualizes the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of VCAM1 captured, and the concentration is calculated from the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm read against the standard curve using a colorimetric microplate reader.

Quantitative measurement spans 0.39–25 ng/ml with a reported sensitivity of <0.23 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Sample recovery data is provided for serum (n=5, range 80%–102%, average 91%), EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81%–100%, average 90%) and heparin plasma (n=5, range 80%–89%, average 84%). Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is also reported for the same sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and not used past the expiration date.
