Description

Manufactured by Antibodies.com as part of their Assays and Kits range, this Mouse Tumor Necrosis Factor Related Apoptosis Inducing Ligand ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse TRAIL in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

The assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for TRAIL is pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where TRAIL is captured by the immobilized antibody. After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-TRAIL Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue product that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of TRAIL captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

Key specifications include a measuring range of 15.6-1000 pg/ml, a sensitivity of 5.9 pg/ml, an assay time of 4h 30m, and a pre-coated microplate platform of 12 x 8 well strips. Results are read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
