Mouse Transcription Factor A, Mitochondrial ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse mtTFA in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. From Antibodies.com, the kit employs a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate with an antibody specific for mtTFA; standards and samples are added and any mtTFA present is bound by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-mtTFA Antibody and an HRP-Avidin conjugate are added sequentially, followed by TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction produces a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution, and absorbance is read at 450nm in a microplate reader.

The assay has a sensitivity of 0.107 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312-20 ng/ml. The platform is a pre-coated microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips, and the total assay time is 4h 30m. Reported sample recovery averages are 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma and 84% for heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16.
