Mouse Syntaxin 2 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this Mouse Syntaxin 2/STX2 ELISA Kit is a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Syntaxin 2/STX2 in tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and has a total assay time of 4h 30m, with absorbance read at 450nm using a colorimetric microplate reader.

The kit uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for Syntaxin 2/STX2 is pre-coated onto the plate, and standards or samples are added so that the target is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-Syntaxin 2/STX2 antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added; the HRP-catalysed reaction produces a blue product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with the yellow intensity proportional to the amount of Syntaxin 2/STX2 present. Concentration is calculated by comparing absorbance to a standard curve.

Reported sensitivity is <0.126 ng/ml with an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml. Recovery (n=5) has been evaluated in serum (average 91%, range 80–102%), EDTA plasma (average 90%, range 81–100%), and heparin plasma (average 84%, range 80–89%). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
