Mouse Synaptophysin ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Synaptophysin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cerebrospinal fluid or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for Synaptophysin pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips.

Standards and samples are added to the wells, after which a Biotinylated Anti-Synaptophysin Antibody is applied, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The resulting enzymatic reaction yields a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the stop solution; absorbance is read at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader, with the intensity of the yellow colour proportional to the Synaptophysin concentration.

The reported assay range is 0.625–40 ng/ml with a sensitivity of <0.278 ng/ml, and total assay time is 4h 30m. Reported recovery values are: Serum (n=5) 80%–102% (average 91%); EDTA Plasma (n=5) 81%–100% (average 90%); Heparin Plasma (n=5) 80%–89% (average 84%). Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
