Mouse Superoxide Dismutase 1, Soluble ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com, designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Superoxide Dismutase 1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit uses a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Superoxide Dismutase 1. Standards and samples are added to the wells, the target is bound by the immobilised capture antibody, and detection is achieved with a biotinylated anti-Superoxide Dismutase 1 antibody followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The reaction produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow after addition of an acidic stop solution, and the intensity of yellow is read as absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader.

The stated product range is 15.6–1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 5.02 pg/ml, and the assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported mean recovery values for undiluted samples are 91% in serum (n=5, range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (n=5, range 81–100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (n=5, range 80–89%). Dilution linearity data are also provided across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions. Kit components are to be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
