Antibodies.com supplies this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse SFRP5 (Secreted Frizzled Related Protein 5) in serum, plasma or other biological fluids.

The assay uses an antibody specific for SFRP5 pre-coated onto a 96-well microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and the captured SFRP5 is detected with a Biotinylated Anti-SFRP5 Antibody, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The absorbance is read at 450nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and the SFRP5 concentration is calculated against a standard curve. Total assay time is 4h 30m.

Stated sensitivity is 0.09 ng/ml and the assay range is 0.25-16 ng/ml. Reported sample recoveries (n=5) average 91% for serum (range 80%-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%-100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%-89%). Dilution linearity has been demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across all three sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
