Mouse/Rat Insulin like Growth Factor 1 ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse and rat Insulin like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1). The kit is suitable for use with cell culture supernatant, serum, and plasma samples, and can assay both native and recombinant mouse/rat IGF-1.

The assay uses a quantitative sandwich ELISA technique. A monoclonal antibody specific for mouse/rat IGF-1 is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any IGF-1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing to remove unbound substances, a biotin-linked detection antibody specific for IGF-1 is added. Following a wash to remove any unbound antibody-biotin reagent, streptavidin-HRP is added. Substrate solution is then added and colour develops in proportion to the amount of IGF-1 bound in the initial step. The colour development is stopped and the intensity of the colour is measured.

The assay range is 15.63 - 1000 pg/ml with a sensitivity of 0.82 pg/ml. No significant cross-reactivity has been observed. Detection is colorimetric and the assay runs on a microplate platform. The kit should be stored at +4°C and not used past the expiration date.
