Mouse Prion Protein ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Prion Protein PrP in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological fluids. The immunoassay uses an antibody specific for Prion Protein PrP pre-coated onto a microplate, a biotinylated detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate visualised with TMB substrate; absorbance is read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader. The assay is configured as a quantitative sandwich ELISA with a total assay time of 4h 30m and a colorimetric detection readout.

Reported sensitivity is 0.061 ng/ml (also cited as <0.061 ng/ml), with an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml. Spike-and-recovery (n=5) was 80% – 102% (average 91%) in serum, 81% – 100% (average 90%) in EDTA plasma, and 80% – 89% (average 84%) in heparin plasma. Dilution linearity at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 was reported as: serum 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%; EDTA plasma 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%; heparin plasma 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%.

Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date. The kit is described as suitable for cell lysates and tissue homogenates.
