Description

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Ornithine Decarboxylase (ODC) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique on a 96-well microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Ornithine Decarboxylase/ODC. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and bound by the immobilised antibody, followed by washing and incubation with a Biotinylated Anti-Ornithine Decarboxylase/ODC Antibody. HRP-Avidin conjugate is then added, and a TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow after addition of acidic stop solution. The intensity of yellow is proportional to the amount of target captured, and concentration is calculated by reading absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.

The kit has a stated product range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of <0.059 ng/ml, with detection performed on a colorimetric microplate reader. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery values in mouse sample matrices are: serum 80–102% (average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma 81–100% (average 90%, n=5), and heparin plasma 80–89% (average 84%, n=5). Dilution linearity data at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 are provided for serum (87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%), EDTA plasma (90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%) and heparin plasma (84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%), all n=5. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and the product must not be used past its expiration date.
