Mouse Orexin ELISA Kit

This sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Orexin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. An antibody specific for Orexin has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells and the Orexin present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Orexin Antibody binds the captured Orexin, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. TMB substrate produces a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. Orexin concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader and referring to a standard curve.

The product range is 7.81-500 pg/ml with a sensitivity of <2.27 pg/ml. The total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. Reported recovery averages are 91% for serum (range 80-102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81-99%), and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80-89%).
