For bone metabolism researchers who need a quantitative immunoassay for murine osteoprotegerin, this Antibodies.com kit targets the soluble decoy receptor also catalogued as TNFRSF11B, OCIF, or tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 11B. The two-antibody capture format delivers a detection range 93.8 to 6,000 pg/mL with sensitivity less than 5 pg/mL, resolving endogenous OPG from serum and matched plasma specimens, body fluids, tissue lysates, and cell culture supernatants generated by mouse studies of postmenopausal osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, periodontal bone loss, vascular calcification, glucocorticoid-induced bone loss, and tumor-induced osteolysis.

Reconstituted standards and detection antibody vials should be aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycling; unopened kit components are stored refrigerated, with long-term stability at -20 degrees C for up to eight months, and freshly diluted working standards should be prepared before each run. Each kit ships with pre-coated microplate strips, biotinylated detection reagent, a lyophilized recombinant mouse OPG calibrator, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, TMB substrate, wash buffer, and stop solution, calibrated against natural and recombinant mouse OPG with no reported cross-reactivity with related analogs, and is intended for research use only in in vitro and in vivo experimental workflows.

For longitudinal monitoring of osteoblast-osteoclast crosstalk, inflammatory bone erosion, or metabolic bone disease in murine models, this quantitative mouse OPG immunoassay can be paired with complementary RANKL measurement to derive the OPG/RANKL ratio as a widely reported indicator of net bone-remodeling balance.
