Mouse Neurotrophin 4 ELISA Kit

A quantitative sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro measurement of mouse Neurotrophin 4 (NT-4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate (12 x 8 well strips) onto which an antibody specific for NT-4 has been immobilized.

In the procedure, standards and test samples are added to the wells and any NT-4 present is captured by the immobilized antibody. After incubation and washing, a biotinylated anti-NT-4 antibody is added, followed by an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is then added, producing a blue colour that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour, read at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, is directly proportional to the amount of NT-4 captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated from a standard curve.

The kit demonstrates a sensitivity of less than 8.2 pg/ml and a working assay range of 15.6 to 1000 pg/ml, with a total assay time of approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. Reported recovery for undiluted samples is 80–102% for serum (n=5), 81–100% for EDTA plasma (n=5), and 80–89% for heparin plasma (n=5). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed in the protocol manual.
