Mouse Lysyl Oxidase Like Protein 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit from Antibodies.com for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Lysyl Oxidase Like Protein 1 (LOXL1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. The assay employs a 96-well microplate pre-coated with an antibody specific for LOXL1. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where LOXL1 is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-LOXL1 Antibody is added, followed by an HRP-Avidin conjugate. The HRP enzymatic reaction is visualised using TMB substrate, producing a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of the acidic stop solution. The intensity of the yellow colour is proportional to the amount of LOXL1 captured in each well, and the concentration is calculated by reading the optical density at 450 nm against a standard curve on a colorimetric microplate reader.

Reported sensitivity is <14.8 pg/ml, with an assay range of 31.2–2000 pg/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Spike-and-recovery testing returned average values of 91% in serum (range 80–102%), 90% in EDTA plasma (range 81–100%) and 84% in heparin plasma (range 80–89%). Linearity has been demonstrated at sample dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The kit is supplied with a pre-coated microplate, lyophilised standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution and plate sealers; components should be stored at +4°C or −20°C as instructed and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
