Mouse Lysyl Oxidase ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Lysyl Oxidase (LOX) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, in which an antibody specific for LOX is pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and test samples are added and LOX present in each sample is captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-LOX Antibody binds the captured LOX, followed by addition of an HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the enzymatic reaction, producing a blue colour that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of LOX captured, and the concentration is calculated from the O.D. absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, referenced to a standard curve.

The assay is quantitative and colourimetric, with a stated sensitivity of <0.128 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.312–20 ng/ml. Total assay time is approximately 4 hours 30 minutes. Reported recovery ranges were 80–102% for serum, 81–100% for EDTA plasma and 80–89% for heparin plasma, with dilution linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 also assessed in the same sample types. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
