From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) enables the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Luteinizing Hormone in serum, plasma or other biological fluids. The assay employs a microtiter plate pre-coated with an antibody specific for Luteinizing Hormone. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where the hormone is captured by the immobilized antibody. After washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Luteinizing Hormone Antibody binds the captured hormone, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The colourimetric signal is read as O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the analyte concentration is calculated against a standard curve.

Reported performance from the manufacturer includes a sensitivity of <0.145 ng/ml and an assay range of 0.468-30 ng/ml. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery in serum (n=5) spanned 80%-102% (average 91%), in EDTA plasma (n=5) 81%-99% (average 90%), and in heparin plasma (n=5) 80%-89% (average 84%). Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions for each of the three sample types.

Kit contents include a pre-coated microplate configured as 12 x 8 well strips, lyophilized standard, Detection Solution A, Detection Solution B, 30X Wash Buffer, Sample Dilution Buffer, TMB Substrate, Stop Solution, and plate sealers. Components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the kit should not be used past its stated expiration date. The reactivity is specified for mouse samples.
