Description
From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of mouse Leukemia Inhibitory Factor Receptor (LIFR) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The kit employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for LIFR that has been pre-coated onto a microtiter plate. Standards and test samples are added to the wells, where LIFR is captured by the immobilized antibody. Following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-LIFR Antibody is added, which binds the captured LIFR. After further washing, HRP-Avidin conjugate is added and the plate is incubated. TMB substrate solution is then used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of LIFR captured in each well, and concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader and referring to the standard curve.
The quantitative assay reports a sensitivity of 14.5 pg/ml and an assay range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml, with results read on a colorimetric microplate reader. Total assay time is 4h 30m. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit should not be used past its expiration date.
